Top 10 Health Benefits of FC Bio Sanitary Pads Everyone Must Know
My mom introduced to me to this sanitary pad and mentioned it has some health benefits. As a nurse, of course I want to see research-based evidences to prove its benefits. So I come up with my own research about the product before I gave my full trust.
FC Bio Sanitary Pads are products of Malaysia; awarded as Excellence in Hygiene Enhancement by Asia Pacific CSR in 2016. They underwent several lab tests in different countries to ensure the products are safe to use. There are several people with positive reviews regarding the usage of the products.
Let’s talk about sanitary pads first. Some sanitary pads consist of acrylic acid, an organic compound that is irritating and corrosive to the skin and the respiratory tract. Some sanitary pads have plastic sheets. Plastics not just pollute the environment but it can irritate our skin. In addition, some pads are bleached white using chlorine dioxide, which can be toxic. These are just few from other things most sanitary companies not telling us.
I’m not a chemist but don’t mean I won’t be able to understand these things. It’s up to you to believe it or not but based on my readings, these were what I found:

Speaking about the harmful effect of these sanitary pads can cause. Reproductive problems such as Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), Ovarian Cancer and Cervical Cancer are becoming more and more common. In USA statistics, ovarian cancer is the 6th leading cancer death based on 2014 CDC report. Every day in United Kingdom, 9 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer.While in Philippines, cervical cancer is one of the 6 leading cancer cases.These cases increases with different factors involved and the time patients were exposed to carcinogens. But based on World Health Organization (WHO), study shows that 62% of reproductive problems in women are due to usage of low quality or unhygienic sanitary pad. But worry no more, because of some health conscious people come up with a solution, the FC Bio Sanity Pad, the first herbal sanitary pad.

First layer of the pad is made of 100% cotton. While other sanitary pads as I mentioned have plastic sheets as covers, cotton is less likely to create skin irritation.
Middle layer contains Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) particles that provide high absorbent function which decrease moisture.
Bottom layer is a ventilated layer for better ventilation. No ventilation proliferate bacteria since bacteria love dark, warm and moist environment.

One of the main ingredients of this pad is Mai Fang Stone (aka Maifan Stone, Maifanite). This stone is well known as health stone in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. An ancient Chinese remedy to treat various skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis.
Other ingredient is Ming Fang (aka Alumen, Potash Alum, and Tawas). It has so many uses; industrial uses such as in Roman times they use Potash Alum to purify drinking water, culinary uses, medicine and more. In cosmetics, this alum used as astringents to prevent bleeding from small cuts, and used as underarm deodorant because of its antiperspirant and antibacterial properties.
Also contains Bing Pian (aka Borneol Camphor, Sambong). Known to improve blood circulation, has an anti-inflammatory effect which inhibit cellular inflammatory process that hasten healing if there is genital infection, stimulates menstruation with analgesic effect that counteracts menstrual pain, and an anticancer, contain methanol extract for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Contains Peppermint (aka Menthae Herb, Yerba Buena). It reduces uncomfortable feeling during menstruation and provides cooling effect.
Another ingredient is Agrilarie Lignum (aka Cypress Oil). It helps to alleviate UTI and fluid retention, has an antiseptic effect, a vasoconstrictor which reduces enlargement of hemorrhoids, improves circulation and helps regulate menstrual cycle.
No carcinogen, no dioxin. It is made all from natural ingredients unlike common pads which contains synthetic materials and chemicals.
